May 17, 2011 – The 2011 China Sports Industry and Financial Capital Forum was held in Chendu with the main topic as Driving Sports Industry Growth with Financial Capital. On the forum, Lu Hao, board director of D&F Capital, who is part of the forum organizing committee, said that the combination of financial capital and sports will be an important trend in the coming 3 – 5 years, as sports industry is the last untapped market in China for investors. Mr. Lu said, D&F Capital is raising a fund of RMB 200 million for investment solely focused on sports industry.
Lu is a well-known sports executive, agent and investor in China. Apart from D&F Capital, he is also the managing director of Beijing Starz International Sports Management Co. Ltd. (Starz Sports), a global sports marketing and management company based on Yao Ming’s Team Yao agency. In 2009 Lu helped Yao Ming acquire the CBA team Shanghai Sharks and became the first general manager post-acquisition.
D&F Capital’s managing director Xu Ningbo has 18 years’ investment banking experience in the U.S. So far D&F Capital has already built a leadership team with over 18 senior investment experts in China.
